TIM CHAPLIN
Tim joined Noordanus Architects in 2012 after being drawn home from Auckland to be a part of the Christchurch rebuild.
Throughout his career Tim has embraced opportunities to work across a variety of disciplines where he has gained experience in projects through New Zealand ranging from education, health & care, accommodation, commercial, industrial and residential architecture from master planning to the revitalization of civic spaces.
Prior to retraining in the field of architecture Tim worked as an Automotive Engineer where he gained an Advanced Trade Certificate in Automotive Engineering. The fusion of design skills and the practical Engineering knowledge learnt during his previous career provide the practice with a new level of problem solving through inventive design solutions.
Since the formation of BCN Architects Tim has become a key senior member of the team by utilising his skills in management, art and design while also injecting his enthusiasm into every project.
Tim brings a pragmatic approach to design, coupled with innovative thought processes and thorough communication skills that enable him to build strong relationships with the Client and wider Project Team. This holistic approach sees Tim continuously advocate for the best possible outcomes on every project and he takes reward in seeing client’s dreams become a reality.
