Boss Apartments comprise 3 stylish north facing inner city apartments with generous indoor and outdoor spaces.
Each apartment is planned around a naturally lit double volume stair gallery within which the stairs are the star attraction. The stair treads are individually cantilevered asymmetrically within the space creating a sense of weightlessness.
Glass stair and balcony balustrades and airfoil louvres facilitate the interplay of light into the apartments at upper and lower levels, modelling the open spatial qualities.
A protected native Rimu tree was required to be retained on the site - the tree has a strong vertical sculptural form. The development was designed to accommodate the Rimu which now comfortably co-exists alongside one of the apartments.
The apartments offer the owners an urban retreat, suitable for entertaining and private living, but within walking distance of the city centre.
