AMY HURST
Amy joined Baldasso Cortese Noordanus Architects in early 2021. Amy enjoys the practices’ collaborative environment which enables the delivery of innovative, practical, and enjoyable buildings to meet the varied needs of the clients and community.
Prior to studying architecture, Amy worked in construction on projects ranging from high end architectural residential homes to commercial buildings. Amy’s 10+ years in the construction sector has equipped her with a sound knowledge of building processes, practical application of the New Zealand building codes along with site and contractor management. Amy’s interest in creating buildings that perform above minimum requirements drove her to complete her Diploma in Architectural Technology at Ara Institute of Canterbury.
Amy’s role covers all stages of the design process from preliminary design to the completion of detailed design and consent documentation packages. Amy’s ability to look at plans from a “buildability” point of view enables her to identify potential issues at design stage to enable a more streamlined construction process.
Working as a part of team, Amy is assisting with project delivery and support functions, inclusive of scheduling, sub-contractor management, building consent administration and management, and BIM co-ordination.
